CMBHL

We hope all families and friends are staying safe and healthy.

Thank you for your commitment to the Caledon Minor Ball Hockey League. In follow up to the previous update communicated to the membership regarding the spring league and potential summer league, the league thanks you for your continued support.

Unfortunately, as the Town of Caledon facilities are presently closed and will be closed throughout the summer months the league has been unable to have a 2020 season of ball hockey. The safety and health of all the participants, staff, families, and friends are the highest priority.

Further to our previous communication, the league had offered some options and thank you in advance for the many replies.

As per previous update, the league has been able to keep your registration on file a full credit for the 2021 season, have your spot secured for 2021 and not be subjected to any 2021 price increases.

As per previous update, the league was able to cancel the registration with an email request sent to the league and a refund and cancellation of the registration being processed.

If you have your full credit in place for the 2021 season, your spot will be secured and not be subjected to any price increases. The Province of Ontario has entered stage two of the re-opening phase and potentially could enter stage three in the future. If the Town of Caledon decides to open facilities prior to September and allow for small gatherings to take place, the league may be able to provide a free training clinic for those that have a full credit for 2021.

The league has created a Play Safe Manual to coincide with returning to play sports which is currently being updated and will be provided to our membership and online. The Play Safe Manual will cover all categories including Pre-Season, Pre-Game, In-Game, Post-Game and Post-Season Protocols that the league will follow ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all of the players, families, staff and officials.

The league will be continuing to monitor and assess the situation, with the guidance of public health authorities and our sport’s governing authorities. The league will keep you up to date of any further changes. Updates are also posted on the league website at www.caledonballhockey.com and as many members are aware, the league has been committed to replying to any member inquiries in a timely manner via email.

The Caledon Minor Ball Hockey League hopes that all participants, staff and their families and friends remain healthy and safe during these difficult times.

We all miss sports but are committed to making sure the return to sports is safe for everyone involved.

Thank you for your patience, understanding and support.

UPDATE - APRIL 10, 2020

We hope all families and friends are staying safe and healthy.

The league has been monitoring the developments of the Coronavirus Covid-19.

The safety and health of all the participants, staff, families and friends are the highest priority at this time and the league has been following the guidance of Public Health authorities.

Further to the announcement of schools remaining closed until beginning of May to slow the spread of Coronavirus COVID-19 and the Town of Caledon cancelling programming until July 2nd, the season opening has been postponed to July 4th.

In the interim, the league will continue to monitor and assess the situation, with the guidance of Public Health authorities and our Sport’s Governing authorities. We’ll keep you up to date of any further changes. Updates are also posted on the league website at www.caledonballhockey.com

The League will be monitoring on a regular basis to keep pace with the evolving situation. If public health authorities determine that it is safe to return to public facilities, the league will update the membership to complete preparations for the upcoming season. The league will provide updates and will follow the Local Public Health Organization’s recommendations.

The many closures of public gathering places and events has the potential to slow the spread of the virus and prevent the outbreak from reaching the level already seen in some other parts of the world. The league is fully supportive of all measures to keep our community safe and healthy.

The Caledon Minor Ball Hockey League hopes that all participants, staff and their families and friends remain healthy and safe during this difficult time.

Thank you for your patience, understanding and support.

COVID-19 UPDATE

The Canadian Ball Hockey Association (CBHA) and its Member Provinces are working diligently on a Return to Ball Hockey plan based on direction from governments and public health authorities. As provinces begin to reopen in the wake of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, The Canadian Ball Hockey Association will continue to provide information to keep players, parents, coaches, officials and volunteers updated.

The Canadian Ball Hockey Association Board of Directors have made the decision to extend the suspension of all CBHA sanctioned activities (including those of our member Provinces and Leagues), until the Provincial Health Authority in your Province has deemed it safe to do so, and a Provincial Association re-start plan has been approved by the CBHA. The Canadian Ball Hockey Association Board of Directors and its Member Provinces will provide another status update July 1st!

The health and safety of everyone involved in the game will determine when we return, not our desire to get back on the floor. When Canada is ready, the Canadian Ball Hockey Association will be ready. Until then, continue to follow the guidelines set by your Provincial Health Authority to help limit the spread of COVID-19. Only by working together will we be able to make a difference and safely return.

As the return to ball hockey plan progresses, it will do so at different speeds, and at different times, across the country, based on direction from health authorities. As such we have created the following set of procedures and policies to return to ball hockey.

1. Each Provincial Association must have a re-start plan that aligns with their Provincial Public Health Authority policy for restarting. Leagues within each Province must follow their Provincial Association re-start plan.

2. All Provincial Association re-start plans MUST be sent, along with the Provincial Policies/Directives pertinent to their Provincial Association to the Canadian Ball Hockey Association for approval before re-starting.

3. The Canadian Ball Hockey Association has the last right of sanctioning any ball hockey activity across the country.

4. Any unsanctioned activities will not have legal or insurance protection.

5. Any unsanctioned activities will be penalized accordingly.

To our Members, partners, local ball hockey leagues, volunteers and fans across Canada, thank you for keeping the spirit of ball hockey alive. Unprecedented times have called for unprecedented efforts at every level of the game. We hope to see you around the rink as soon as possible.

The following is a statement on behalf of the Canadian Ball Hockey Association Board of Directors, on the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic...

The Canadian Ball Hockey Association (CBHA) is committed to providing its participants and other support groups related to our programs, a safe and healthy environment in which to enjoy the sport of ball hockey.

With the recent events relating the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the CBHA Board of Directors have made the decision to suspend all CBHA sanctioned activities (including those of our member provinces and leagues), effective Tuesday, March 17, 2020 until Friday, April 17, 2020.This date may change due to the nature of the situation. The CBHA Board of Directors and its member Provinces will provide a status update as we approach April 17th!

The Board is unanimous in their position that this is the proper and responsible action required to ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals involved with CBHA sanctioned programs.

The CBHA has been advised that the ISBHF will be meeting very soon to discuss the upcoming World Championship events in Europe. The CBHA will await direction from the ISBHF and advise its members accordingly.

The CBHA will continue to monitor the situation and will keep our members posted on any new developments and actions that may be required.

The CBHA wishes to thank, in advance, all involved with CBHA programs and activities for their cooperation as we all navigate through this unique and difficult situation.
